Women's tennis loses hard fought match to Concordia

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Due to inclement weather the Mount St. Joseph women's tennis match vs. Concordia was moved to the nearby Western Tennis Club. The Lions would open their season with a tough 6-3 loss. 

The match opened with the doubles portion of the event, and the Lions were able to win one of the three doubles matches. In their first match of collegiate tennis Katie Fellinger (North Bend, Ohio/Taylor) and Allison Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) won their first doubles match 8-3. The No. 2 doubles match was extremely tight as Kelsey Knodell (Deleware, Ohio/Rutherford B. Hayes) and Jessica Berger (Milan, Ind./Milan) fell 8-6.

The Mount was able to take two of the six singles matches in this matchup. Fellinger continued her hot streak moving her collegiate record to 2-0. Knodell was able carry the momentum of a close doubles match into her singles match, defeating her opponent in a tie break.

The Lions will return to the court on Saturday welcoming Franklin to open HCAC play.
