FRANKLIN, IN - The Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Franklin College to take on the Grizzlies in the first game of this Saturday double header. The day did not go in favor of the Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team as they fell to the Grizzlies 68-48.
The Lions began the game coming off a conference win against Bluffton University. The Mount found themselves falling behind during the first quarter when the Grizzlies finished the first quarter with a score that was double of The Mount. The Lions were able to make up ground in each of the subsequent quarter but they were not able to find their way out of the hole.
The Mount was able to achieve 12 points in both the second and third quarters to make up some ground but were unable to ever gain the lead in the game. They were however to win the fourth quarter but the game was not long enough to allow them to secure the victory. Alehia Tucker (Covington. KY/Holy Cross) was still able to make her mark accounting for over half of the teams points with 25 of her own. Tucker also had 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
