TERRE HAUTE, IN - The Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Rose-Hulman Institute Technology to take on the Fightin' Engineers in another conference matchup on the road. The Lions were able to keep the game close in the first half as they went into halftime only trailing by four. The Lions were unable to hold it and finished the game down 64-41.
The first quarter was evenly matched between the Lions and the Fightin' Engineers, ending all tied up at 13-13. The Mount went 2-3 from the 3-point arch while keeping Rose-Hulman scoreless from 3-point range. Once quarter number two began the Lions kept up their fight to only be outscored by four as the halftime buzzer rang.
Unfortunately when the Lions took the floor for the second half the Fightin' Engineers came out with momentum that The Mount could not match. They managed nine points in each quarter in the second half but were outscored leading to a 64-41 deficit when the game clock ran out.
While Maddie Haberthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy) couldn't find her groove she still managed to get 10 points, 2 rebounds and an assist. Alehia Tucker (Covington, Ky./Holy Cross) also led the team with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. On the defensive side Aliyah Huff (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) was able to snag 5 rebounds and still sink 4 points.
The Lions next game will be Saturday, December 8th at 1:00PM as the first game in The Mount's double header against the Ravens from Anderson University in the Harrington Center. Continue to check MSJSports.com for more updates on the Lions 18-19 season!
