TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Lions got off to a competitive start against a very talented Rose-Hulman team. Krystal Wannemacher (Payne, OH / Wayne Trace) was on fire to start the game, scoring 10 points on 4-5 shooting in the first quarter. After the first period of play the Lions were locked in a 15-14 battle with the Fighting Engineers. After Rose-Hulman pulled away a little bit in the second quarter the Engineers pushed their lead to 30-23 heading into halftime. The second half featured a lot of back and forth play. The Lions shared the basketball incredibly well down the stretch, as four different players scored in the fourth quarter. However, the Lion effort was not enough and they eventually fell to Rose-Hulman 54-42.
- Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH / Little Miami) was in double figures yet again for the Lions, scoring 10 points and leading the team in assists (4) and rebounds (4).
- Krystal Wannemacher led the Lions in scoring, dropping 14 points on 5-9 shooting.
- The Lions defense was great on Saturday afternoon. They were able to force 20 turnovers agains the Fighting Engineers.
The Lions are entering the final stretch of their season, with only four conference games remaining. They are back in action on Wednesday at home against Transylvania. Tipoff at the Harrington Center will come at 7:30 PM.
