HANOVER, Indiana – The Mount St. Joseph University track & field team competed in the Hanover College Invitational on Saturday. Despite inclement weather the Lions performed well and broke multiple personal records. The men's team finished in 5th place while the women's finished in 4th place out of nine teams.
Starting with the men's, Arvonte Neal (Florence, Ariz. / Florence) earned 1st place in the long jump with a distance of 6.41M and 3rd place in the 110 meter High Hurdles with a time of 16.65. Kevin Polking (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) placed 4th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:11.29. Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH / Roger Bacon) placed 4th in both the 110 meter high hurdles and 400 meter hurdles with times of 16.83 and 58.82. Ben Grey (Napoleon, OH / Pettisville) placed 5th in the 800 meter with a time of 2:11.17. Tre'on Taylor (Orlando, FL / Winter Park) earned a 6th place finish in the 100 meter with a time of 11.69. Cameron Willis (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) placed 4th in the 400 meter with a time of 51.17 while also placing 5th in the high jump with a height of 1.80M. The Lions placed 4th in the 4x400 Relay with a time of 3:42.81, led by Stark, Taylor, Willis, and Isiah Hale (Crestwood, Ky / Oldham County).
On the women's side, Anna Schoster (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) broke the school record yet again in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.33 which was good for 1st place. She also earned 3rd place in the pole vault with a height of 3.35M. Kiersten Lux (Waldron, IN / Waldron) earned 2nd place in the discus with a throw of 33.16M and 6th place in both the hammer and javelin throw. Andi Meyer (Ft. Loramie, OH / Ft. Loramie) placed 3rd in the high jump with a height of 1.51M and 4th in the pole vault with a height of 3.20M. Ashley Klosterman (Celina, OH / Celina) earned 4th place for her 1:12.87 finish in the 400 meter hurdles. The group of Klosterman, Alyssa Cardwell (Cincinnati, OH / Roger Bacon), Dianna Mack (Cincinnati, OH / Dater), and Phuong Phan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) earned 3rd place in the 4x100 Relay with a time of 58.21.
