The Lions went into halftime with the lead of 1-0. The second half came and went with each team getting a goal leading to a Mount victory with a final score of 2-1.
How it Happened:
The Lions hosted the Ravens of Anderson University on the back half of this conference double header. The Lions immediately came off on the offensive with seven shots to Anderson's one shot within the first 20 minutes of the game. The eighth shot was the magic shot by Seth Freppon (Cold Spring, KY/ Kentucky Central Catholic) on a penalty kick in the 21st minute of the game to take the lead 1-0. The Lions were able to stay strong and keeping putting shots up which lead them to keep the lead and they went into half time leading the Ravens by 1.
As the second half started the Ravens were able to get an early goal to tie the game back up leaving both teams with the opportunity for victory. But the Lions answered back right away when Freppon with an assist from Austin Masters (Cincinnati, OH/ Northwest) to regain the lead with a score of 2-1. The Mount was able to stay tough and hold the lead until the final minute ran out earning the Lions another conference victory. This brings their conference record to 2-1 and they wrapped up an undefeated Homecoming Day on the campus of Mount St. Joseph University.
Lion Hearted Performance:
The Lion Hearted Performance of the game goes to Freppon. He had five shots, four shots on goal and both of the Lions goals leading them to the 2-1 victory over the Ravens of Anderson University. This brings his season total to seven goals earning him the second place position for goals in the conference.
