The Lions hosted the Quakers of Earlham College started with a first half score of the the Lions leading 2-1. Each team had a goal in the second half bringing the final score to 3-2.
How it Happened:
The Lions hosted the Quakers of Earlham College in their first conference matchup of the season. Each team exchanged shots until half way through the first half where the Mount's Seth Freppon (Cold Spring, KY/ Newport Central Catholic) with a header past the goalie to give the Mount their first lead of the game. Earlham answered back quickly to even out the score but Austin Masters (Cincinnati, OH/ Northwest) with a boot on the ball in the scramble to take back the lead for the Lions taking them into halftime with a lead of 2-1.
In the second half the Quakers held off the Lions shots for 15 minutes until Alexander Horschmeier (Batavia, OH/ Batavia) took the Mount's lead to two goals with a score of 3-1. The game started to get intense as the time started to run down. The Quakers were able to sneak in a goal with five minutes left to play bringing the score to 3-2.
Lion Hearted Performance:
The Lion hearted performance of this game goes to Freppon who had the first goal of the game and leads the team in goals with five goals so far this season.
