CINCINNATI, Ohio - Mount St. Joseph University and the Mount St. Joseph baseball program are excited to announce the hiring of Austin Woodby as their new assistant baseball coach.  Coach Woodby will be in charge of the Lions pitching staff for the upcoming 2020 season and will also take over as recruiting coordinator.

Woodby joins the Mount coaching staff after an impressive playing career at The Ohio State University.  The Springboro High School (OH) native finished his Buckeye career with an outstanding overall record of 16-2 (.889 winning %), with 2 saves and 104 strike outs in 150 innings in his collegiate career. He also garnered Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete honors during his Buckeye career.

"I am honored and excited to join the Mount coaching staff and community," said Woodby.  "I'd like to thank President Williams, Athletic Director Steve Radcliffe and the search committee for this opportunity.  It's an honor and privilege to lead these young men and I look forward to help further the success of this university."

Head Coach Jeff Newman says, "Coach Woodby's professionalism and work ethic will have an immediate positive impact on our program.  Having a pitching coach who has had success at the highest level of collegiate baseball brings instant credibility to the current student-athletes and future recruits."
