The Lions sweep the Wilmington Quakers in second match-up

Location: Hermann Court (Wilmington, OH)

The Basics:

The Lions traveled to Wilmington, OH to take on the Quakers in their second match-up of the season. The match ended in a similar fashion as the Lions would go on to defeat the Quakers 3-0.

How it Happened:

The Lions started the first set off with a four point service run from Karlie Schell (West Harrison, IN / Franklin County) to give them a quick 5-0 lead. The Mount continued to roll and go on to take a huge 15-6 lead. Wilmington would fight back in the end but the Lions offense was too much as they would go on to take a 25-19 victory. The Quakers came back with energy in the second set and battled the Lions early. After back and forth points the Lions were able to break away from a four point service run from Riley Brunner (Lawrenceburg, IN / Lawrenceburg). That was all the Lions would need to solidify a 25-17 win of the second set. The Quakers weren't ready to give up in the final set and continued to challenge the Lions. Briana Looney (Harrison, OH / Harrison) kicked off a four point run for the Lions to give them some breathing room halfway through the set. The Lions wouldn't look back on their way to a 25-15 victory capped off by a kill from Cailey Plemmons (Oxford, OH / Talawanda).

Standouts:

Plemmons continues to dominate in the front row, this time finding the floor 15 times during the match. Looney protected the net with 4 blocks and Schell protected the back row with 15 digs.
