Women's tennis defeated by Rose-Hulman Fighting Engineers

CINCINNATI, Ohio—The Lions women's tennis team were defeated by the Fighting Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in a Wednesday night matchup, 6-3.  

The match started with the doubles portion, and the Lions were able to win one out of three matches. Katie Fellinger (North Bend, Ohio / Taylor) and Allison Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) won the lone doubles match with an 8-5 victory.

The Lions won two of the six singles matches in this matchup. Fellinger continues her hot streak with another singles victory, moving her collegiate record to 6-1. Tessa Mayes (Cincinnati, Ohio / Colerain) defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-0 in the Lions final match of the day. This is the Lions best outing against the Fighting Engineers in recent years and their record now stands at 1-3 and 0-2 in conference.
