The Lions win big over the Terriers of Hiram College

Location: Henry Field (Hiram, OH)

The Basics:

The Lions faced off against the Terriers of Hiram in a Saturday night matchup. The first half was slow for both teams but the Lions came back from the half hot. The Lions would score all four of their goals in the second half to defeat Hiram College 4-0.

How it Happened:

The first half was slow for both teams as neither were able to make strong plays on the goal. The Lions continued to chip away at the Terriers defense to try and find the perfect opportunity. The Lions took 12 shots in the first half and none of them were able to connect, leading to a 0-0 score at halftime. The Lions came back from the break energized and Madeline Scherpenberg (Cincinnati, OH / Mother of Mercy) would start the Lions off with a goal in the 63rd minute from an Etelle n'For (Frankfort, Ky / Western Hills) assist. N'For would find the goal herself in the 67th minute on a nice pass from Madeline Rechel (Harrison, Ohio / Harrison) to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Alex Hines (Cincinnati, OH / Walnut Hills) was the next Lion on the board, with a goal in the 73rd minute to give the Lions a 3-0 lead. Kaylan Gruber (Harrison, OH / Harrison) would be the final Lion to score in the 84th minute to lead the Lions to a huge 4-0 victory.

Standouts:

The Lions had four different players find the net in this contest. The Lions defense was also spectacular this contest, only allowing the Terriers to take three shots.
