KANSAS CITY, Missouri-- The United Soccer Coaches have announced their all-region teams. The Mount was rewarded for an outstanding 2017 season, as three players found their names on the respective lists. The Lions won a program record 17 games in 2017, including a 7-2 record inside the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. That record was good enough for a second place in the conference this season.
For their outstanding play on the field this season, Kaylan Gruber (Harrison, OH/Harrison), Stefanie Autenrieb (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) and Alex Hines (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches.
Gruber and Autenrieb were first team All-Great Lakes selections, and Hines found herself on the second team. Gruber led the Lions offensive attack in 2017, scoring a team high 13 goals. Autenrieb scored two goals and added an assist. Autenreib along with Hines both played outstanding at the back for the Lions. Leading a defense that claimed eight clean sheets on the season, and a .89 goals against average.
"Stefanie, Kaylan, and Alex are very deserving of these awards," said head coach Josh Hess. "They have all had terrific years and have helped the program to continue to grow and improve. I am happy for them that they've been recognized by other coaches in the region as underclassmen and I am very excited to see what the next few years holds for them. I know that they are thankful for the hard work and support of their teammates because they know that without it they wouldn't have received these individual honors."
