HCAC recognizes Madeline Rechel as Defensive Player of the Week

Mount St. Joseph Sophomore Madeline Rechel (Harrison, OH/ Harrison) has been recognized by the Heartland Colligate Athletic Conference as Defensive player of the week.  She has led her team in some dominant performances over the weekend.  Her hustle on the defensive end has inspired her teammates to play at a high level.  The team has been playing outstanding, as they continue their winning streak.

The Lions have played amazing defense as they participated in two shutouts over the weekend.  The team was able to defeat Spalding 6-0, only allowing 1 shot on goal the entire game.  They also were able to out shine Berea after beating them 3-0, again only allowing 1 shot on goal the whole game.  This kind of defensive presence has allowed the team to become extremely successful early on in the season.

Mount St. Joseph, with a record of 4-1, will continue their season this Wednesday 9/13 against UC Clermont.  Madeline and the Lions defense will look to continue their success and bring home another win.
