Lions Drop Home Opener Against Centre 16-2

Location: Schueler Field(Cincinnati, OH)

The Basics:

The Mount had a rough start to the game at their home opener against the Colonels of Centre College.  The Mount finished at halftime trailing the Colonels 12-1. The Lions finished off the game falling to Centre with a final score of 16-2.

How it Happened:

The Colonels started with 11 unanswered goals before the Mount got onto the board.  Mount senior Kara Marshall(Cleveland, OH/Laurel) racked goal number seven for the season with an assist by fellow senior Courtney Gleason(Cincinnati, OH/Seton).  The Lions ended up with a halftime score of 12-1.  When the second half came around the Mount fought through and held Centre to three goals and scored one more of our own by Gleason on a free position shot bringing her season total to five.  Ending the game with a final score of 16-2. Freshman goalie Syd Vinel(Cincinnati, OH/Seton) currently leads the ORLC(Ohio River Lacrosse Conference) in saves with 57.
