Tina Blakley returns in 2018-2019 for her eighth season as the Head Coach for the Lion’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Coach Blakley is committed to the overall achievements of the men’s and women’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams by creating a team environment in which the athletes experience success academically as well as athletically. Her teams strive to maintain 3.0 or higher GPAs and many of the athletes receive academic honors as well as recognition by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) for their academic excellence. Since becoming the Head Coach in 2011, she has been devoted to building competitive Cross Country and Track & Field programs that consists of dedicated student athletes and establishing tradition for the programs.
She is passionate about enabling Mount athletes achieve their personal goals and is an advocate for educating athletes about injury prevention, cross training, nutrition, sport psychology and strength & conditioning. Coach Blakley collaborates with the Athletic Training Department to ensure each athlete in her team’s programs has an overall balance in their training and competition. Athletes on her teams continue to achieve personal bests in their events, break school records, place in their events at the HCAC Championships and strive to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Coach Blakley is a USATF certified Level 1 and Level 2 Track & Field Coach, as well as an AFAA certified personal trainer. She has helped direct many individual athletes and teams improve their overall performance through strength and conditioning training programs. Her personal interests involve strength training, competing in multi-event endurance races, long distance running and cycling.
Blakley received a degree in Sport Management from the Mount in May 2015. While at the Mount, she maintained a 3.80 GPA, was on the Dean’s List and a member of the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration.
