LEXINGTON, Ky - The Mount St. Joseph men's lacrosse team travelled to Transylvania University to take on the Pioneers in their first conference matchup of the season. The game did not go in favor of The Mount as they were defeated 30-1.
The first quarter went to the Pioneers as they were able to go up 13 goals before before the quarter finished. In the second quarter of the game The Lions were able to make their only mark on the board when Matt Stecht (Erlanger,Ky/Holy Cross) drilled through and got his first goal of the season. This would be the only goal The Lions would collect in the game. The Pioneers would go on to grab 17 addition goals throughout the last three quarters of the game before the buzzer went off and the final score on the board read 30-1 as The Lions lost their first conference game.
The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, March 30th at 1 PM as they take on the Quakers of Earlham College in another conference matchup. Continue to check MSJSports.com for more updates.
