Location: Schueler Field (Cincinnati, OH)
Mount St. Joseph faced a strong ORLC competitor this past Wednesday. Transylvania was able to strike first and take the 2-0 lead early. The Lions were able to get on the board with a goal in the first period to make the score 2-1. After that, the Pioneers were able to take over and hold the Lions scoreless for the rest of the game.
How it Happened:
The game started with the Pioneers taking the early lead over the Lions, getting to the net twice in the first 3 minutes. The Lions were able to answer with a goal of their own from Seth Poirier (Somerville, OH/ Talawanda) to make the score 2-1 in the first period. The Mount struggled to contain the Pioneer offense and gave up multiple goals in the second quarter. The Lions trailed at the half with a score of 12-1. The deficit was too large for the Lions as they were defeated with a final score of 25-1.
Poirier continues to be an offensive weapon for the Lions as he was able to score the lone goal in Wednesday's contest.
The Lions (0-9, 0-3) will host another ORLC matchup this Saturday, 3/31 against Bethany (2-6, 0-3). Face-off will start at 1:00 PM on Schueler field.
