Washington (Mo.) got out to a quick start against the Lions on Friday, scoring two runs in the second inning. They would not look back.
The Washington hitters looked solid at the plate all day, compiling 11 hits over the course of 7 innings. After putting up two runs in the second inning the Bears would follow that up with runs in each of the next three innings.
Going into the seventh inning the Bears had pushed their lead to 8-0. They were not done yet, as they would add three more runs in the top of the seventh inning, pushing their lead to 11-0. Mount St. Joseph would not be able to answer with any runs of their own in the final inning of play and would fall to the Bears by a final score of 11-0.
Mount St. Joseph's Florida trip will come to a close on Saturday when face off with Framingham St. in a double header. First pitch of game one will come at 10:00 AM with game two directly following game one.
