Mount St. Joseph men's volleyball player and sports information co-op honored by the NCAA

CINCINNATI, Ohio-- Mount St. Joseph University senior men's volleyball player and sports information Co-op Darien Bradley will soon embark on a memorable journey. Bradley was selected by the NCAA Division III as a recipient of a fully sponsored trip to the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) convention June 11th-14th, 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

For the first time, Division III will support six women and/or ethnic minority students to attend the annual CoSIDA Convention, including Division III Day, June 11-13, 2017, through the new Division III CoSIDA Student Program.

At the 2017 CoSIDA Convention in Orlando, Florida, the selected students will participate in Division III Day, be exposed to the CoSIDA Convention, its members and the athletics communication profession. Grant recipients will attend welcome and debrief meetings and be assigned a mentor.  The goal is to build the pipeline in an effort to ultimately diversify the Division III athletics communication landscape.

Bradley a native of Las Vegas, Nevada came to The Mount to play volleyball and major in Sport Management. During his first three seasons he has been a model student athlete excelling both on the court for the Lions and in the classroom.

Former Head Coach Ryan Lengerich who recruited Darien to The Mount had this to say, "Darien Bradley may be the highest character young man I have ever recruited."

His current coach Cristina Webb said, "I am most impressed with Darien by his genuine nature and his thoughtfulness. He consistently delivers for us, he is a fantastic communicator and has an outstanding work ethic. Darien is a truly a joy to coach."

When asked how he feels about this opportunity Darien said, "I am honored to have been selected by Division III as one of the first six people to get this opportunity. I am very excited for the experience that I am going to gain at the CoSIDA convention. I would like to thank our Sports Information Coordinator Blake Watson and our Director of Athletics Steve Radcliffe for nominating me."

Darien and Blake will head to Orlando on June 10th, where they will learn about all aspects of collegiate athletics communications. They will have an opportunity to network with peers and colleagues from all over the country.
